Buying a new or vehicle is exhilarating, as many of the satisfied new truck shoppers here at Cochrane Dodge Jeep RAM will attest. Once you have established your budget, you want to have a vehicle that looks good and gets great gas mileage while meeting your lifestyle and performance needs. You may even look for specific features such as heated seats and steering wheel, a built-in navigation system, a multi-zone climate control system, automatic emergency braking, and Android Auto or Apple CarPlay.
The one thing you should not overlook is the warranty. Our new RAM trucks are known for their durability, yet they can still have occasional mechanical issues.
Luckily, with any of the new RAM trucks for sale at our Cochrane dealership, you will receive a Basic Limited Warranty. This provides bumper-to-bumper coverage for the cost of repairs for 3-years and 60,000-kilometres.
You will also receive a factory-backed limited powertrain warranty. A gas-powered Ram truck has a 5-year/100,000-kilometre Gas Powertrain Limited Warranty. A diesel-powered Ram truck has a 5-year/160,000-kilometre Diesel Powertrain Limited Warranty. The cost to repair all powertrain components are covered, which includes the engine, transmission, and the drive system.
The basic and factory warranties only cover the cost of repairs that result from defective parts or issues in manufacturing. Normal wear-and-tear is not covered. When you bring your RAM truck to our service department for mechanical repair service, we will let you know if the mechanical repair is covered under one of these warranties.
There are additional warranties that you can get with the purchase of a Ram truck. One of these warranties is the MOPAR Parts and Accessories Limited Warranties. This covers the cost to repair defective parts and manufacturing that are not covered outside the limitations of the basic and factory warranties. Some of the parts that are covered include:
- Brake pads and shoes
- Shocks and struts
- Gaskets and Seals
- Starters and alternators
Other complimentary warranties include roadside assistance service, MOPAR Vehicle Protection, and more.
